This is a fantastic experiment. I have used it to reinforce a variety of different topics; fire triangle, combustion, safety etc.

This can get very nasty and practice is a must as nasty burns can be an undesired result. This fits in nicely with the AQA GCSE Core syllabus where students look at the trilling topic of cooking with oils versus cooking with water!
